SODAS 2123 project space
Exhibition ‘žodis žvirblis‘

Address: Vitebsko g. 21IV-V 16-19:00VI 13-17:00

The exhibition “A Word Is a Sparrow” takes place in the former project space “Swallow,” creating a new situation from its name and lingering echoes, with birds emerging as metonymies of promises, memory, and change. New and specially commissioned works become the artists’ attempts to stray from the modes of expression familiar to their practices, experimenting with new forms. As these excursions intertwine with shifting roles among the participants, the exhibition itself rearranges and re-articulates itself. Words, words, sparrows… a world suspended from its own tropes, cutting off the chimera’s head at the ends of Baroque furniture.

Artists: Gediminas G. Akstinas, Ugnė Marini Gelgotaitė, Anya Karanevskaya, Ieva Holografienė, Lukas Mykolaitis, Gerda Paliušytė, Kamilė Pikelytė and Neda Rimaitė.
