Video art screening and performance September 10 at 18:30 SODAS 2123.

A group of Taiwanese artists, drawing on theatricality and humor, invites audiences to see the world through different eyes and hear it through different ears. The screening and performance programme encourages viewers to inhabit different human and non-human roles, adopt distinctive ways of perceiving the world from other species, and tune in to constantly shifting signals.

Combining live performance with moving images, the programme reveals hidden spaces in Taiwan, shifting states of consciousness, and distinctive cultural landscapes. The evening will begin with a screening of video works by “Hyper Wave,” JUAN Po-yuan, ZHANG XU-Zhan, HSU Jung, and NI Hsiang, and will conclude with a live performance, Mirror State, by HSIUNG Yun-Pei.

Taiwan Signal is part of an ongoing collaboration between Hyper Wave (Taiwan) and the SODAS 2123 Artists’ Residency Programme. The event is funded by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan.
