On September 10 at 7 PM, the VDA gallery ‘5 malūnai’ will host the performance ‘Thought Recorder’ (“Feeling = Thought = Word = Drawing”). During the performance, participants are invited to speak, sharing either coherent or fragmented thoughts, while the artist, Ieva, listens. Using a specially constructed device, one of whose components is a Eurotherm Chessel apparatus, she records words, vocal vibrations, and sighs. Questions may be asked during the conversation, while the speakers’ feelings are captured through signs and diagrams and translated into images. Together with the participants, she creates unique, sound-inspired visual drawing books — leporellos. Everyone is invited to participate, including poets.
