care of… presents Ana Lipps’ solo exhibition ‘Herbarium Oculorum’, breaking down the boundary between plant and human anatomy. Here, flowers develop eyes, and the viewer’s reflection is integrated into their bodies. This herbarium functions as an archive of human-plant interdependence. Marked by a decorative quality and kitsch, the flowers conceal stories of resistance, identity, and liberation. Cultivated, given as gifts, worn on the body, or used as symbols of resistance, they become participants in historical conflicts and power dynamics. Through spatial and sensory interventions, Lipps explores how established social and material relationships can be questioned and transformed. The reinterpreted herbarium tells stories that return power to the plants.
