WORKSHOP
‘Between Headline and Interpretation’ | 13:00

Address: Gaono g. 1 (ARTIFEX)September 13th

On September 13 (Sunday) at 1 pm, “Between the Headline and Interpretation” – an educational event accompanying the exhibition At the Crossroads.

We encounter war through headlines, social media posts, photographs and fragmented testimonies. But how do we distinguish information from its interpretation? Why do we immediately trust some narratives while rejecting others? How do emotions, a lack of context and the rush to react shape our relationship with what we see?

Gabrielė Navickaitė, the author of the exhibition and a cultural researcher, invites participants to explore these questions together through examples of public posts, images and media coverage. The event will focus on how to read public narratives more carefully, notice what they leave unsaid and resist the urge to react immediately.

Rather than encouraging us to distrust everything around us, the event invites us to engage with narratives and information in a more sensitive and critical way.
