A. and R. Gataveckai | 16:00

Address: J. Basanavičiaus g. 1September 12th

Algirdas and Remigijus Gataveckas’ exhibition ‘Code: I Am’.
The artwork by these twin brothers, who grew up in a children’s care home, stems from a tattoo they got as teenagers reading ‘Alone between four walls’—a symbol where a single central point surrounded by four others reflects structural control and isolation. The authors have transformed this diagram into a visual composition: the central point—a pansy petal—represents the body, while the four surrounding points embody forms of destruction. Here, the pansy is a dual symbol: a metaphor for the childcare system and an expression of delicate, fleeting beauty. The exhibition addresses structures of institutional violence, bodily discipline, and resistance—experiences recognisable not only within care homes, but wherever coercive order operates.

Opening hours:

Tue–Fri 12 pm–6 pm, Sat 12 pm–4 pm.
