CREATIVE WORKSHOP WITH SIMONA KIRSTUKAITĖ-AKULASHVILI
Until September 26, UMI Gallery is presenting Simona Kirstukaitė-Akulashvili’s exhibition “I Thought I Would Be a Good Mother.” On September 12 at 2:00 PM, we invite you not only to visit the exhibition, but also to meet the artist, gain a closer insight into her creative process, and try it out for yourselves.
Every artist has their own creative strategy – a way of discovering motifs and choosing the means of expression best suited to them. During the workshop, Simona will share the stories behind the paintings on display and talk about her creative process. In the second part of the workshop, she will invite participants to create a work of their own.
“We’ll mix words, snapshots of everyday life, and our own feelings in a shared pot, throw in a few seasonal herbs, cast a spell three times, let it cool down, and then pull out still-warm paintings. No drawing skills are required – all you need to bring is curiosity and a desire to create,” says Simona.
Duration – approximately 2 hours.
Registration is required: simona.k.akulashvili@gmail.com

The exhibition is dominated by expressive painting, powerfully complemented by the author’s ceramics and poetry.
