The 9th edition of VGW focuses on the theme of HABITS. The programme is based on exchanges, new habits of communication and cooperation, and is an invitation to broaden the notions of spaces that present art, to rethink the purpose of art organisations, as well as the principles of their functioning. This habit-changing provocation is also aimed at visitors who are in for a pleasant surprise by unusual exhibitions. They will also have a chance to discover new, less visited galleries in Vilnius.

During VGW, the following galleries have decided to exchange their spaces for one exhibition: InTheCloset gallery is exchanging with Offshore Eyes, Rooster Gallery is swapping with apiece, while Vilnius Academy of Arts Outdoor expo is switching with exhibition space 5 malūnai.

National Museum of Lithuania has also joined the exchange programme and will exhibit works by artist Robertas Narkus in four of its branches. They will be presented by the Vartai gallery.

Other Vilnius galleries and museums that do not participate in the habit-changing exchanges will join the common VGW program on September 5-8. Most of them will feature new exhibitions.

This year, the creator of the Instagram account avocado_ibuprofen is joining the VGW project. Since 2017, the account has been hosting original comics, texts and memes. In collaboration with designer Gailė Pranckūnaitė, communication specialists Stefanija Jokštytė and Eglė Trimailovaitė, avocado_ibuprofen created visual identity and merchandise for VGW.
